Gaming Updating past 3.71 M33-2

I just got a PSP 2000 (Daxter Pack) that came with CFW 3.71 M33-2. Since I'm new to the PSP scene, I'd like to know the update path for 3.71 M33-2 (Should I update to 3.80 M33 and use the network update, or do I need to do something specific).

i have neve had any problems going form 3.71m33 to 5.00m33. but everyone has their own tales. but to make sure you dont have too much problems i suggest going form 3.71m33->4.xxm33-5.00m33

After updating to a 4.XX M33 firmware, should I then use the M33 network update, or would manual be a better option?

you can update from 3.XX to 5.00M33-6 directly

Okay, guess I'll try that (Though I think I'll update to 5.0 M33 then 5.0 M33-6).

If anything messing with flash re-writes more than once is more risky (in a relative sense)

Updated to 5.00M33 then 5.00M33-6 and everything went smoothly. Thanks for the help.
