Let me apologise beforehand for all the questions i will ask here. At the moment i suffer terrible burnout from research on
cfw for my recently hacked Switch, and knowing how quickly scene moves i'm sure to suffer more on 3DS' account
Decided to look into updating my old 3DS XL. No idea where the scene is at this moment in regards 3ds cfw in relation to my unit here.
I use Acekard, some luma bits are on sd card in sd slot. Current unit version is 11.7.0-40E.
What can and what should be done to update the unit ? Should i even bother ?
I'll number questions for ease of answering if anyone is willing to help.
1. Not sure i have an OFW nand backup of this unit... I do have SOME backup on hdd, might be OFW. While updating,
do i go of way of restoring it to the console first ?
2. Is there even a need of Acekard flashcart at this stage of current cfw's ? Can i ditch it altogether ?
3. Any way to back up and later restore current saves of my kids ? They do play it occasionally, when on trips, lots of screaming to be avoided if updated.
4. Can someone remind me booting shortcuts that lets me enter supersecret bits of luma ?
5. I hear freeshop is dead.
6. I get an "update" nag. should i be worried ? How to delete/remove the update ? I seem to remember i did some preventive measures in luma supersecret bits against updating but cant be sure at this point.
6a. Can i render my unit "patched" if i or my kids update it now ?
7. Current FW version is 11-7-0-40E, Luma updater v2.2 gives me 8.1.1-f6483ec..., payload type SIGHAX, payload path /boot.firm, Backup payload: YES.
I'm currently incpecting and cleaning dirty shell, unsticking buttons etc My god, kids are disgusting ...
#EDIT1# 8. System keys ? Do i need to dump them ? Do i NEED them at all ? How to dump them i i do need them ?
