Hacking updating games with custom firmware?

is it possible to update games and play online with the "6.20 PRO-810" firmware?

i bought metal gear solid peace walker recently and i want to make sure i dont brick anything if i update it or play online.

It won't brick your system... I used to play Phantasy Star Portable 2 Online using an ISO copy and it works~
