Plailect's guide features delebile's fork (the original implementation), so it's the one with screen init. A simple way to check that is to see if your screen briefly flashes right after you power on your 3DS, if it does (it should considering what you said) then it's with screen init.

I don't mean to necro this thread, but I didn't want to start another on the same subject...

I just wanted to know if I can update my A9LH from v1 to v2 using this part of the guide: https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Updating-A9LH

My goal is to keep everything the same, but be able to boot without the SD card. (O3DS on A9LH v1 + Luma3DS 11.0.0.33U Sysnand)


I'm backing up my SD card now, in case I fuck up. My Sysnand and otp.bin are already backed up.

I think you can, Not sure that A9LHv1 has the same installing or not.
FYI, A9LHv2 not suppot SDless, you will need experiment build which has some bug about DS game while there is no CFW payload/No SD.

What's that mean exactly? Does it mean it won't play DS games properly? If that's the case, I rather not mess with it.

Yes, DS cart won't load when there is no CFW payload (no arm9loaderhax.bin file of CFW such Luma3DS), or when there is no SD card.

I don't feel like updating it. I use one of the oldest ones, from February I think.
No screen init no bs. Updating luma is easier then ever. Just one file on the sd card.
No use of booting 3ds without sd card anyway.

Someone kind of want SDless option in case his SD/MicroSD broken. So they can do an emergency boot.
