Hacking Updating a custom emulater channel?

Can I update it?
I recently download and installed 2 custom channels that are emulaters,though they are fairly new they need a update to be completely new, but when I update it happens but then another box for a update appears the next time I load the channel.
Is it just saying the download was a success or do I have to update it more?

Download the newest versions of the emulators in .dol format
Then use this, by selecting the channel .wad and the new .dol

Then uninstall the old channels and replace with the new ones
that should work
