does anyone think I should make a separate thread asking if this happens to anyone else or for others to check? then, if it doesn't, ask them to post their config.ini. I think I know what nearly all options do, but there's a few I'm not sure of.

so far so good. I redid the dns, and I deleted the update folder again. I'm playing dkc returns via usb loader gx. the theme I installed to the vwii is still in tact, and everything I've tried but that mocha thing has worked.

Last night was crazy, so I'll have to get my config to you later today. In the meantime, you could backup your old config and try starting from scratch.

I don't think backing up the old config will make much difference, because all I have to do is place a 1 or a 0 for each setting. I think you have to hold B to get into the configuration screen as well, so I think it might be a hassle especially considering I'd have to keep redoing it without knowing what two of the settings do. I checked everything else: neek, emunand, dlc, saves, virtual console games on the wii u, and zelda, which I didn't buy, and everything works except zelda wouldn't let me download the game update (not sure if normal or not, because I have the update folder deleted and dns blocking system updates. however, I'm pretty sure content goes in the import folder, which is temporary), but I just downloaded the update with wii u usb helper and installed it. this time, it didn't nag about an update existing. I hadn't installed anything on the system in years.

hmm...sha1 is the same. have you tested exiting system settings on mocha? mocha seems to run correctly except for that one thing. I've been trying to find if others have had the same thing happen. it may have been that way on 5.5.1, but I only go into mocha to see system firmware. I most likely turned off the system each time, since afaik, there's no way to go back to haxchi/cbhc once you go into mocha. I'll try a different sd card real quick.

I have no issues backing out from the system settings while in Mocha. I restart back to the Wii U home menu in Mocha.

okay, the second sd card did the same thing. exiting shows the normal wii u screen, then black screen, followed by an infinite loading screen.

I fixed it. it's a bug with cbhc. you have to enable SysHaxXML. I saw a report of the bug on github. I know that the syshax.xml is your original system.xml, which is what's modified when using cbhc. it essentially makes a copy of the original and names it that.

I just installed indexiine after a lot of trial and error. the wii u browser hacks do not work with cbhc it would seem, so you have to install the new index.html through mocha, possibly haxchi, or with nothing. I've noticed several things that don't work with cbhc. anyway, after installation in mocha, it works in cbhc as well.

I'm not sure why you're using Indexiine and Mocha if you have Haxchi/CBHC.

I only use Mocha to check firmware. And, indexiine is a backup, since I don't know if self hosting works.

Also, not all savemii options work with cbhc, but they do with Mocha. Indexiine install with cbhc results in loading mii maker instead of the homebrew launcher.

Browserhax via a website also results in loading mii maker with cbhc unless you install via Mocha, haxchi, or stock

@AmandaRose , I've tried indexiine about four or five times. it's worked 100% each time, but only if it was installed through mocha (probably works with stock or haxchi as well). I think it's one of the things that doesn't work correctly with cbhc unless you do that. I don't know if you're using cbhc though. anyway, both browserhax and indexiiine resulted in loading mii maker with cbhc installed. I don't know why. it works always now with cbhc after installing through mocha.
