honestly I just can't wait until people finally figure out a way to get persistent coldboot cfw on switch a la Luma or CB Haxchi. the wii u hacking scene died a while ago since now it's basically just a $7 entry fee for permahax, and the 3ds hacking scene has ironically risen from the grave very recently (at least the homebrew scene) because of how easy it is. meanwhile the switch is not only annoyingly hard to hack without hardmods but also impossible to have permahax on without hardmods as of yet.

I lived a charmed life on the 3DS, I was incredibly active back in the day on the 3DS (before the shambles that was freeshop) and I never received a ban on any of them...

But as soon as things started happening on the Switch I got banned quick sharp, think it was like within a week of applying sxos and updating games using their servers :rofl2:

Most ppl that did/do get banned on the switch assumed its the same level of security on the 3ds.

Well, that was a dumb conclusion. Years later and still not banned, despite using homebrews since the Cubic Ninja era.

Same here. At this point I'm convinced it's because people pirated leaked/review versions FE Echoes or the Pokémon games even of they're denying it. That or they have devmenu and other developer installed and go online while using them. But I haven't been banned yet and I've played online with .cia games and homebrew.

None of that explains why my LFCS_B was banned, but whatever. You can believe whatever you like.

I' too am amazed that after all this time I can still play online 3ds smash. Presumably other games too. Most games were from Freeshop or installed .cia's.

I'm sorry yours got banned Sophie!

This turned out to finally be true, for the Switch. Sucks that Switch just gets banned from everything. Can't even buy games from eShop, dumbest move ever. "oh you demo'd a few games? You aren't allowed to give us money for them anymore."

I'm not too upset about it. I don't play online much anyway, plus it's a ban that can be mitigated.

The eShop bans are the weirdest thing. You'd think a company would want more money from their consumers but apparently if you're a dirty hacker they don't want your grubby money.

Whats your point? Keep to the thread you got and dont bother posting in multiple ones about this. It makes helping troubleshoot the issue more of a bother.

That's because the eShop is a service percieved as a benefit for you. Sure they get money for it, but you use it to get convenient access to games. In a legal way, that is

Once the freeshop is no more, losing access to the eShop is more of an inconvenience than before.
