Hello, i downloaded and updated my psp from here: http://pspcustomfirmware.com/how-tos/how-t...-to-update-psp-
    cfw-5-50-gen-d3.htm
and i didnt realize it was Gen d-3, i also did not realize you needed Gen d to d-2 (supposedly) to update.
When i checked i was currently at 5.00 M33-6, now my psp cant detect isos or csos (also i have looked around this forum and others).
And ive tried running EBOOT 1.5 but the recovery menu wont open, i still havent tried flashing with a pandora battery, but im not sure if thats what i need to do to fix this or not.
The VHS menu wont open anymore, and whenever i try running the DC8 program or other programs
(Other programs like the 3.71 M33-4, Despertar del Cementario, and Pandora's Battery Creator )
it says "cant open game the data is corrupted" and when i try to run other updaters like the 5.00 one i get the “the game could not be started” (80020148)

I'm not sure what i should be doing, am i supposed to reflash/downgrade/reset the psp's firmware somehow?

I think you mean "VSH" menu, not "VHS" menu [IMG].

Anyway, try Pandorizing back to M33, then try upgrading to GEN D3. I'm not entirely sure what the problem is, I upgraded from 5.00 M33-7 to 5.50 GEN D3 just a few days ago with no problems.

You don't need GEN D2 or any other GEN updates to go straight to GEN D3.

Have you checked in the system information if it actually says 5.50 GEN D3?
Maybe you mistakenly updated to 5.50 OFW like most people do with the XGEN updater.

    You're on 5.50 OFW.
Please read the text better next time.
Right now, you gotta use a Pandora battery and a MMS.

Thank you everyone for the replies
Ya in the system information it says 5.50, i didnt know it was supposed to have the "gen d-3" accompanying it.
As for the memory stick ive tried formatting remaking my MMS with RainsUltraLite and PSP Grader but it doesnt seem to be working with the pandora battery.
Im assuming the battery is the problem since as stated in alot of forums if you plug it in the green power button should turn on or the screen flash, but im not getting any of these things. Ive been wondering if i just need a new one?

Are you sure it's a pandora battery?
    Is it charged?

Yes its a pandora battery, i used it the first time to get CFW on the same psp, but since the update i put in i havent been able to run any custom programs, i think Jolan was right about the firmware i installed since it only says Version 5.50 in the system info as i said. I can still play UMDs and use the standard features, so is the problem my memory and battery?

try inserting just the pandora, no stick inside, then turning it on.
IIRC, it should stay with a black screen, with that orange lights, as if it's charging.
If it doesn't, looks like it's the battery.
If it does, your memory stick is faulty because you haven't properly made it into a Magic Stick.

You don't need to turn it on. Pandora battery's automatically switch the PSP on. [IMG]
If the PSP doesn't turn on by auto, it's the battery or it's dead (not charged/not working)

Okay it doesnt turn on by itself so ill try charging the battery first, just to make sure the battery should turn the psp on regardless of the firmware or if theres a MMS right?

I have no idea if what Prowler485 said is true, never used a Pandora. Still, do try turning it on.

Yes - The battery should make the PSP turn on by auto regardless of firmware and/or if there is a memory card inside.
