Hacking update problem need answer ASAP

ok strated to update my wii via wfi and the blue bar is a bout a quarter done but there is no activity on my router..the screen says please do not turn off but i need to know if its safe to do so or what i can do lol..its sat here now with update screen but no progress and the wireless light on my router blank..

is it going to brick or does the wii download the full update before it updates?

Just unplug the router cable and it will say that update failed without any damage to your wii.

its ok i restarted it and it appears to be fine..
