ROM Hack Update games from XCI

Hi,
On switch-xci most of the games have a base NSP + Update NSP, do I only need Base or also Update? If so, do I first install the base using goldleaf and then the second one also using goldleaf?

Doesn't matter. Updates bring more content and/or better optimization. But noone forces you to do anything in correct order.
