Hacking Question Update from 7.0.1 to 8.0 safe?

Hi!

I have a switch on 7.0.1 with Atmosphere 0.8.5, I want to know if it is safe to update to 8.0 or If I need to wait for an Atmosphere update?

Yea sorry - I didn't wanna sound like an a-hole, but with some units with autorcm, telling someone to get 0.8.7 and then update will brick them lol

ChoidujourNX, yes. Might as well update the atmosphere files first tho, so it's ready to go.

Little tip for ChoiNX, when it's finished installing the update and you're left with a button on the screen saying "Reboot", don't press it but instead hold the power button for a few seconds, choose power options and reboot from the system screen that pops up. This will use atmosphere's lovely reboot to payload feature and get you straight back into cfw. (I can't remember what atmos version introduced this, so another good reason to update atmos first!)

Oh, thanks! I was really scared hearing about all the possible bricks with the different Switch versions, updating seemed a pain that wasn't really necessary, but after hearing you on how easy it is I am going to do it right away!

Do a NAND backup first, then you can do whatever you want with you Switch and if you mess up, restore your NAND.
