Hacking update from 4.2 to 4.3

i have a wii with softmod (it was done wrong, so it doesn't work anyway ;p) and i want to update my wii, but i'm afraid it could damage the console
i did some research on the internet and i found out it only deletes all unofficial things (like homebrew channel) but i want to be sure
my question is: will it only delete and make unable to install again those things, or will it destroy the console so even official things like disk channel or internet channel won't work?

No it won't destroy official things. Theres no benefit AT ALL to 4.3 in my opinion. As Kiiwii stated, re-mod using Modmii. If you update to 4.3 and wish to remod you will more than likely need an ORIGINAL of one of the games that uses an exploit
