Hello guys,

Please, I want to know if I can, without problems, update my 3 ds to the 7.2 version on gateway mode (with GW 3D on front of my actual version on the setting pannel), or should I wait ? I'm telling that because of the warning on the gateway website about this version.

Thank you for your attemption.

But If one day I don't check the website an I update my emunand, will I break my 3ds ?

Thank you for your answer :) .

actually if you update the EMUnand to 7.2 you can access miiverse, just not eshop or settings. I was just on miiverse the other day

If i wanted to update to an earlier emunand, if i put in lets say pokemon Y, will it update the emunand in emunand mode instead of Classic mode which would get rid of 4.4?

well yeah you can access miverse but you cant login to post stuff you can only see whats there. i dunno about gateway but mt card spoofs the card firmware even on classic mode so that i cant update emunand with it. also you cant play pokemon x or y online because you need to get 1.2 update from eshop(wich doenst work it freezes at 3ds booting logo)

OP: To answer your question, you won't "break" your 3DS by updating it. The only functionality you'll lose is the ability to launch the System Settings from within emuNAND, and also launch the eShop (again, from within emuNAND).

Okey, thank you very much :) .
Another question : If I update my console from a game launched with gateway, will it update my "emunand" or my console entirely ?

I would advise against this.

My advice is: NEVER update your system firmware (be it sysNAND or emuNAND) if it's not through the settings. Don't update through games, don't update via system prompts, don't go mess around with other settings and then update, etc...just boot emunand and go straight to the update AFTER checking if it says GW3DS on the top screen. This way you guarantee that you don't accidentally update your sysNAND.

These are some wise words. I don't understand why people would rather try updating from a game (do even any have a 7.2 update partition yet?) instead of the three or four taps settings takes.

When I'm telling from a game, I wanted to say the update the game itself, for the multiplayer part (and only this).

You could say that functionality is already lost, since you can't access the eShop without being asked to update, so in a way, there are few to no cons of updating to the latest firmware, since the stuff that doesn't work can't be accessed either way, aside from system settings in emuNAND.

If Gateway are able to crack the 7.x keys, but a console already downloaded (but obviously not installed) the 7.2 update, would it be safe to update with the downloaded update if the hypothetically "new" launcher.dat were being used?

Meh, I figured it was a consistent procedure regardless of if the keys were cracked or not. Guess it's not. Thanks for your somewhat condescending/half-joking post :P
