okay... here we go....

I run it and here is what happens...

I get a black screen that says the following..

Identifying as SU... ERROR! ES_Identify (ret=-1017)
INITIALIZING FILESYSTEM DRIVER.... OK
ERROR: ES_OpenTitleContent (ret=-1026)

I press the "A" button and then i get the region changer screen. I select GO nad it goes through and say the following..

content 1/15 ID:00000000....... Done
content 2/15.........
and so on.....

then at the bottom it says...

ES_AddContentStart(00000001000000ff, 0) failed:-1017
INSTASLL RETURNED -1
INSTALLATION COMPLETE!
Cleaning up tempory IOS Version 255
- removing tickets - no tickets found!
- removing title contents
ERROR! ES_DeleteTitleContent (ret=-1017)
- removing title...
ERROR! ES_DeleteTitle(ret=-1017)
Press any key to continue

It is what I expected

I get a feeling I am going to be corrected but.....

If I'm reading those messages correctly, ARC cannot use any file changing stuff at all(read, write, delete).
Basically these new ones are locked down tighter on who/what can write to NAND.
Removing tickets - None found is also an error that confirms that the downloads didn't get put on the wii's NAND.

*awaits the corrections to my mistakes*

*edit because of slow connection*

nobody has tried it yet ???
strange, because it should work (in theory)

btw, Boot1 has nothing to do with this, it's only loaded when the Wii starts but most probaly the new version has the same additional signature checks implemented in ES_Identify and/or ES_Reload IOS functions

I'll try it WiiPower... not sure if I did or not, but will give it a go again and let you know here right shortly. Just give me a few mins to beat the wife off the wii ....

okay i tried it, and it just gives me a black screen on load, that's it... have to manually reset wii.

I can run the custom wad manager, and the wadmanger16 version but not the regular wadmanager as it also just gives a black screen.

hope that helps...

Just something else to add here.....

I am trying to get my Wii back to normal, because originally I was able to run the regular WAD manager, and now i can't after all this as the screen just goes black. Most apps in HBC i run give a black screen. I can still run the custom wad manager and some other apps.

Any idea's on how i can get the wii back to a clean start???

I have also ran the anytitle deleater to see what was there, but it gives errors regarding the SU on start, and it will let you go through it, but if i say try to delete anything it gives a ticket error.

figured if i could get back to clean start at least i could run the few apps i was running before.

any idea's anyone???

thanks,

Without a cIOS, and without downgrade you can't delete stuff, so you can't get back to normal. You might have the HBC, IOS16 and the cIOS forever, or until nintendo removes them with an update.

This is not sounding to good... lol...

Anyhow.. I am assuming I need to use AnyTitleDeleter and delete IOS249, and that would fix part of my problem, but it won't. At least not right now anyhow.

Would nintendo updates normally clear the IOS249? or is that to stay unless they target it directly?

if you can use custom wad manager, you can just use it to uninstall the cIOS. minus button.

IOS16 doesn't work like the other IOS. It has the trucha bug, but you can't delete stuff with it. You can try it on your Wii, if you don't believe me.

Any news on this? I have the same exact problem, and I'm only 3 days into my wii purchase - so I still have 27 days to return it!

I would try to bring it back if I was you. The only issue is that you need to find a serial lower than LU64*****. The LU63 are ok, I exchanged my LU64 for a LU63 and I did all the IOS downgrade and upgrades. I'm not running Waninkoko 4.0 update and USB loader with an old 80 GB hard drive. Everything works like a charm.

There maybe hope in sight for you LU64 people - from softmii.org:

Well, it’s been a long time since we released the last version of SoftMii. We have been working hard to make sure that you all can really benefit from the upcoming release of SoftMii 3.0. I’m not going to divulge all of our new toys, but a few of the things you can look forward to are a new version of SoftMii Tweaks, SoftMii IOS Downgrader, SoftMii Downgrader, SoftCorp ( A Legal CIOSCORP), LU64+ Homebrew Fix, and much much more. So, please watch this space and come along to #SoftMii on EFnet to hear more. Happy days are here again!

I suppose it depends on what they mean by LU64+ Homebrew Fix, but they have been saying they've got a fix for it for a while but they haven't let on what it was
