AAPT released their unlimited adsl2+ bundles a couple days ago, whether it really is unlimited is to be seen. but hopefully they stick to it long enough to encourage other ISP's to follow. my family is seriously contemplating getting this, even with its fairly steep $100/mo pricetag.

    Here is your catch 22
Billed from the date your home phone service is transferred to AAPT.
Line rental is charged in advance.
    Line rental $29.95
    Usage charges

Billed at the end of the month.
Standard rates apply up to the maximum amount and after the maximum call period.
    All charges include GST.
Local calls 19c per call, any time
National calls 20c per minute any time, plus 39c connection per call.
Community calls and calls less than 50km 10c per minute plus 39c connection per call.
Calls to mobiles 35c per minute any time, plus 39c connection per call.
International calls See per minute rates.
    Calls to numbers:
    13XX XX
    1300 XXX XXX
1345 XXXX 30c per call, anytime.

    All those charges on top
With Optus 2 in 1 you get 30gb downloads speed put down to 256kb after its reached.
Unlimited mobile phone calls unlimited local and national calls.
Most of our calls at home are made to mobiles so with AAPT our phone bill would be around $300 or more per month where as with Optus it costs me $129 per month the lot

In other words, holy macNuggets [IMG] This is gona be really expensive, heck, since this is australia we are talking about, blah, i expect that they will have a bunch of lunch break/tea time/other retarded cost.

Probably in the beginning, 1k will be added to your bill for no reason, and every month, they will billed u for maintenance and other crap.

thing is not everyone is happy with 30gb/mo. heck i know people who are getting throttled monthly on aapt's 8-8 unlimited plan (they always seem to be buying new tb harddrives everytime i see them). i'm struggling to not get throttled half way through the month on my 80gb between 2 power users.

    WTF are those prices? °_°
    100$ per month for ADSL2? °_°

And I thought Italy was still behind the rest of the world... >.<

Here we pay 20-30€ monthly for a standard ADSL2 (12Mbit)...

I reckon TPG is the best in terms of bandwidth. I get 120GB for $49.95 a month which is more than necessary but nice anyway.

The tide seems to be turning in Australia.

Also 20 gigs.... I think I blew through that since midnight and nothing has come out in the last week or so.

I could chew through 20 gigs in a day if my internet wasn't so damn slow [IMG]
We have an awful TPG DSL plan. 35gb Peak, 45gb Offpeak. Offpeak is 4am-9am [IMG]
The download speed is 160kb/s [IMG] I want to get this plan badly for my completely illegal downloading. [IMG]

One would think you guys would have fair internets service by now, caps and throttling aren't right if you're being milked for an assload of cash :\
