The standalone content for Uncharted 4 finally has a release date and a price. Launching August 22nd for $39.99, The Lost Legacy is a true standalone Uncharted experience that follows Chloe and Nadine before the events of Uncharted 4.

Naughty Dog also stated that anyone that pre-orders The Lost Legacy at participating retailers will receive a free digital copy of Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy for PS4 when it launches on August 22. For those who pre-order on PS Store, you’ll also get an Uncharted: The Lost Legacy PS4 theme designed by Truant Pixel, to celebrate Naughty Dog history!

If you picked up the Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Digital Deluxe Edition, Explorer’s Pack, or the Triple Pack, you’ll get Uncharted: The Lost Legacy as a digital download at launch.

i can't justify adding on to the flawed U4 mechanics (the opposite of U3's updates) at this price point until I know a lot more about what the experience involves. $40 is high for a 10 hr experience unless it offers reason to play it more than once.

Consumers shouldn't have to gamble on future content.
When you go to the grocery store they don't offer you a $10 meal coupon that can be exchanged next week for either a pound of filet mignon or a pound of ground beef, depending on their mood.
Imo season passes should be illegal.

I love Uncharted but that was a terrible trailer. In fact it wasn't a trailer, it seems like just a snippet of a cut scene. The PSX showing didn't do much for me either. I know it's a sort of a 'spin off' but I'm not sold on this one yet.

Seems they're going the same route as Kingdom hearts.
Spin off after spin off after spin off to finally release the real Uncharted 4 with Drake somewhere in 2038.

I have to agree with this sentiment. I'm sure this will be a marvellous game in its own right but having the Uncharted brand without Nathan Drake is like MGS without Snake, TLoZ without Link or Dragon Ball without Son Goku.

this isnt just some little dlc addon pack, its a full game of its own set before U4, but i also agree no Nathan is like ehh?

Uncharted is the worst game franchise of all time. The graphics are good. That's it. The shooting gameplay sucks, the climbing and puzzles suck(literally the answer to every puzzle is in the notebook and they're unsolvable without looking in it so what the hell), the story is HORRIBLE and the games are pretty much all about the story. "Hey guys there's a lost city" "lets go go lost city" "hey im bad guy, better watch out" "wow we got to lost city look at all the treasure" "hey im bad guy remember me Im gonna blow up the city and the treasure" "shit we didn't get any treasure oh well maybe next time". That is the plot every single time. Press X to not die. Seriously these things are glorified graphics demos, they are hardly games. Sick of Naughty Dogs shit.
