Hacking Unable to update HMC

Hello everyone I have searched around and can't seem to find a way to update my homebrew channel. I am currently running 1.1.0. When I try to load the latest hackmii installer 1.2 I get the initial disclaimer and then it goes to a black screen. I have tried loading it through bootmi, the HBC and just sending another letter bomb. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you tried a small(er) SD Card with 2 GB and FAT32 formatted ?
Please also check the Write Protection Switch.

I was unable to update the homebrew channel but your modmii soltuion allowed me to patch everything thanks Xflak!
