Dear all

I am a noob on Nintendo. I bought myself a switch lite, modded with hekate. That was about 3 months ago. Things were great until one fine day I noticed the screen to have vertical lines, and subsequently ghosting effect.

I went to a local repair shop to change the LED, waited 3 weeks, and when I got it back just now, I couldn't get any one of the softwares to work. Not games. Not Tinfoil.

It says
!
Unable to start software.
Return to HOME Menu and try again.

It is still on firmware 16.0, Tinfoil 16.0 too. I also notice it's missing the Hekate loading animation when I start the switch.

I've seen similar problems being posted here, I just couldn't understand what I must do.

May I humbly seek assistance from and kind soul here to guide me step by step on what to do?

Thanks.

Check system version. Do you see AMS and a version number next to the 16.0 FW version? If not you are not running cfw.
Do you have a modchip installed? If not you need to use a jig and a payload injector to boot cfw.

I went to system.

It says current version: 16.0.0

I don't know what is an AMS.

How do I know if there's a modchip?

I suspect so yes. They might have reset the system during dismantling. Any way for me to fix?
Even if they reset the system, it would still try to glitch.

Does your sd card contain a payload.bin?

Do you have the main Hekate/Nyx screen (1st pic)? After launching EmuMMC do you see Atmosphere splash screen (2nd pic)? You might be booting into OFW and that's why your not seeing AMS version next to firmware version.

EDT: AMS is shorthand for Atmosphere 3rd pic for reference

EmuMMC is your emulated system running custom firmware.
Upon powering handheld it displays Nintendo and switch splash screens?

EDT: Like it's been stated, sounds like the repair shop either removed or in my opinion botched your installed modchip. I would suggest you taking it back to them to fix themselves or pay outta their own pockets to have your modchip install repaired.

Thanks bro, this seems to be consistent with what I've read.
I'm not sure if it has always been there, but there's no light in the SD card slot, where it's supposed to signify the functionality of the chip?

Most chips do have a led, not all tho.
