If you have one of the new Intel based Macs, you can run the G6 U-Disk Manager without booting into windows with CrossOver Mac:
http://www.codeweavers.com/products/cxmac/
My installation process was something like this:
- Install CrossOver Mac, and start it up
- Start the CrossOver Software Installer
- Select 'Install Unsupported Software'
- Create a Windows 2000 'bottle' (Not sure if it would work with win98)
- Select 'Choose Installer File' and locate the 'G6 U-DISK Manager V4.6A.exe' installer
Now configure your 'bottle' to add the G6 as a drive that the U-Disk software can see:
- Plug in your G6 to your Mac
- Select the 'Configure' menu, then 'Manage Bottles...'
- Select your Windows 2000 bottle
- Select 'Control Panel', then 'winecfg', then hit 'Launch selected item'
- Select the 'Drives' tab
- Press 'Add...' and it will add a D: drive
- Press 'Browse...' for the Path and navagate to '/Volumes/G6Lite', where 'G6Lite' is the name of your device (mine showed up as 'No Name' before I renamed it)
- Press OK until you have left winecfg
Now you can launch the U-Disk Manager, (Programs menu), select the D: drive for your G6, then use the software!
There are a few graphical glitches, and I had to hit enter instead of pressing OK to write, but I tested deleting / writing NDS roms and everything worked just fine.
This beats needing a full windows install for this small but vital utility.
