what do you guys think of a switch flash cart from TX
basically just an add-on to SX OS that is essentially a switch cart to MSD adapter
that would allow you to launch games /homebrew from the cart slot
allowing you to use 2 MSD's in the system

since switch uses so much memory and flashcard prices don't seem to be coming down as larger capacity cards come on to the market as they have in the past do you think this would be a good option for using 2 cheaper lower capacity cards or just for putting in an insane amount of storage

I'd prefer it if we could just disable the switch needing to be restarted when you take out the msd.

Then we could hotswap cards.

i rather wait for tx coder to finish adding usb hdd support (it is on their to-do list if you review the various FAQs posted over the last month), since you can get high-capacity portable otg usb sticks that work on usb-c android phones, why not, unplug the dongle and plug in your usb stick packed with games, or for those with dock have the hdd wired in, etc.

Was already theorized, game cart security seems to be really well made this time around, flash carts aren't really viable from what I've heard.

yeah having a HD while docked is also essential and much more desirable for me but a second MSD would still be nice for portability and convenience to have for portable mode

speaking of flash drives in wonder if games could be loaded through wifi froma wireless flash drive, probably would be too slow though

SMB or NFS mount might be interesting, but unless you have a dedicated network for that, it is likely to be too slow.

Seconded to reading that the cartridge slot has too many protections; Then again, if you also poke the OS so that those protections don't matter anymore, it's probably fair game. Just not something to expect on OFW.

An interesting thing that might be neat to look into, would be looking at the cartridge slot as an exploit device. (see, "easily removed modchip") Since there is interrogation of the slot by the OS for validity, there is potential to send information back that the os does not expect/is not equipped to handle, and thus cause overflows in a reliable way/gain priv escalation. (Hypothetical, needs to be looked into. It looks interesting to me anyway. Say, a small micro controller in there and some fuzzing software.)

yes i i was speaking strictly about an addon to SX OS or other CFW not as a route for initial exploit
i mean after the system is exploited with RCM fusee gelee or other means
just to have an Sd to cart adapter to expand storage options ,not a satnd alone flashcart that can initially exploit the system
