Hello, I have been searching and searching, and I just can't seem to find how to make particular cartridges work, if it's doable. Both of them originally had Pokemon games on them; the one on the right had Fire Red on it, which I actually played and saved many times before getting distracted in the islands, and the other cartridge on the left had a rom hack of some sort in a foreign language. I picked up Benn Venn's Joey a while back, and tried to flash a Fire Red rom hack to the first one, and saving would not work. I put it aside for a while and I grabbed the other cartridge hoping to flash one to it, but the same thing. I've tried flashing legit ROMs with various patches as well, and all are the same results.
I've researched batteryless saving patches, hex editing patches, using gbata for SRAM patching, tried different variations of settings in the FlashGBX menu, and I always run into one of four things.
Either the game fails to load at all,
the game loads, with a message about the 1M Subcircuit board not being installed, and does not save,
the game loads, appears to save, then no saves when reloading,
or the game crashes when trying to save.
If anyone has any insight, that someone would be super awesome for helping out!!
Thank you all.
