Twilight NES and SNES games speed

Hello,

I’ve noticed that NES and SNES games run at crazy speed. I have found out how to run SNES games at normal speed by turning off the speed hack in settings.

How can I make the SNES emulator to run games at normal speed by default?

Regarding NES games I haven’t found a way to run them at normal speed. I would also like to run these at normal speed by default.

It is a bad idea to set "normal speed" to SnemulDS because each game needs to be tweaked individually. Look at the root of you SD card, there should be snemulds config file.

About the NES, I think you need NTSC games only (I did this more than 10 years ago so I am not sure but you can try).

it might be on the root of your sd card, but I've never tried snes or nes with twilight menu.

If you're talking about the NES/SNES emulators that come with TWilightmenu, then maybe you could ask in the Twilightmenu thread here.

Did you read what I wrote ? EVERY SINGLE GAME needs its own configuration. There is NO normal speed with SnemulDS.

If you want to force the default settings :

1) open snemul.cfg at the root of you SD card with a text editor
2) set vblank = 0
3) add a line at the beginning without # called : SpeedHacks = 1 (or a value between 0 and 3 or 4 depending on what you consider normal speed)
4) Save the file

You are free to modify whatever you want there.

Again, doing this is useless IMHO, just make your config file for each game.

I found the file and tried to make changes but nothing changed. I also tried to save config changes for games individually via the settings menu but no file seems to be created since everytime I open a game everything is the same. No save states either. Maybe I need to create a folder?

So that means that TWL++ is using a RAM disk. If this is the case, I think nothing can be done. Maybe @RocketRobz can reply on this. Sorry I am using standalone version of SnemulDS on flashcards and no problem.

If you use a recent nightly build of TWiLight Menu++ and TWL version of SNEmulDS (put SNEmulDS.srl at sd:/_nds/TWiLightMenu/emulators/SNEmulDS.srl) it should be able to load settings and save and such now.

(note: links I used assume you're on a DSi from internal SD, if you're on flashcard this isn't relevant and if you're on 3DS you should be using a 3DS mode SNES emulator)
