I just want to play on tv with pad because of motion controls not included in pro controller.
In games like botw even when playing on tv the pad drains battery for just having a "your're playing on tv" writing on lcd display, totally absurd.

What can be a way to disable backlight of lcd while playing this way?
An hardware mod placing a switch on lcd backlight wires?
I saw there's an app for that function, turns off the lcd pressing analog R but since game uses that button does it still work? Is it remappable?

Might not be possible if they went with the stupid design they used since the first DS, where it will just turn off the entire device if the backlight is not consuming power

Not directly but Padcon can be recompiled to have its effect mapped to a different button!

Mapping that function on a button of the pro controller would be cool but I am not sure it's possible to discriminate to R3 (analog right) on wii pad and R3 on controller pro.
