So, a friend lent me his o3ds(10.7 Emunand with menuhax and luma 6.6) in order to update it to a9lh, followed the guide but i'm hitting a snag with decrypt9 which simply refuses to work( screen goes red, then black for a bit, goes red again and kicks me back to homebrew launcher) i've already tried several times and gotten the same result. Any way to fix this?

Are you launching it from SysNAND? Because it won't work on EmuNAND.

If by launching from emunand you mean booting the console, getting a "super r4 3d" splash screen and then waiting a bit while things are going fancyschmancy in order to get the into the main menu, then run hbl from there? yeah.
how do i get to launch it from sysnand?

    MY ASS!
If your launching from sysnand you got frankenfirmware. Use a safe sysupdater (or watever they use now ) and reload 9.2 on sysnand, that should allow you to use decrypt 9

If the system is working, ignore the talk about "frankenfirmware" If Luma works, so would Decrypt9, if it was launched from SysNAND.

Remove menuhax by performing the following step:
Start the guide from here, making sure to get a fresh copy of the Homebrew Starter Kit: https://3ds.guide/homebrew-launcher-(soundhax)

Doing this will make sure you are on the 9.2 SysNAND, which is where you need to be. At the very end, after A9LH is installed, you can move EmuNAND to SysNAND assuming that is the end goal (the guide has a section for it).

welp, went ahead with the downgrade thing and now i'm back to 9.2.0 emunand, except that now i don't have hbl running, fun.
According to what you wrote, i have to start from zero? great.

EDIT: booted the console without the sd card version is 9.2.0-6U

Having an emuNAND doesn't mean you can skip any steps, menuhax/emuNAND doesn't contribute at all towards the a9lh install process. So yes you have to start from zero and make sure you do everything on sysNAND or it won't work.

    Yeah, to Decrypt9: https://3ds.guide/decrypt9-(homebrew-launcher)

It'll have you make a NAND backup, and then the next step is the 2.1.0 ctrtransfer. Then you install A9LH, make sure Luma is working from it/setup your payloads, and restore whichever NAND you want to use to SysNAND. The guide is verbose but it's pretty straightforward.

That option is relatively new, make sure you've downloaded the latest release.

Afaik, got the latest release, unless all the thingamajig i did with the downgrade(which set all the games the sd card had into gifts) nixed that option.
Anyway, i can just quit decrypt9 and try to get the latest release, right?

Sighax is coming soon so you could wait for that and it won't require an otp.
