If you are using DVD- discs, used high quality media, tried burn speed 4x and 8x, and used clean 1:1 dumps. And have a proper cIOS installed of course(rev19 is proper for example). Then i would say that i should finally update the warning in NeoGamma.

Hmm, maybe i should get results with a different method. Next NeoGamma will check the drive date, and then if a game works for disc it will bug about
"Is your disc a DVD-R? Do you have a modchip? If it's yes and no, then please report XXXXXXXX"

Make sure you eleminate the possible error sources i mentioned above, and when you are sure your Wii doesn't read DVD-Rs, look into usb loading.

Haven't tried Verbatim DVD-R or Ritek G05 DVD-R but have tried Verbatim DVD-RW and a generic DVD-R.

As my Wii is brand new and black, im pretty sure I have the D3-2 drive =(.

Unknown drive, report 20081218

NeoGamma R9 Beta30, IOS249 (Rev14)

the dol says im using cIOS249 r20. it reads the game ID and apploader and all that stuff. when it boots the game, i get "the disc could not be read..." spit out by the game.

using wode + DVD-r, my game shows up in the system menu fine.

Maybe a bad burn or bad .iso? It should throw an error on reading the disc id if the drive wasn't DVD-R compatible. Or the Wode does something it shouldn't do. Are you using cIOS + WODE to run the game? What do you get with an IOS + WODE?

Your drive date is: 20070213, which is the latest known DVD-R compatible date.
