I have an issue with my PSP 3000 being unable to fully turn on. Everytime I hit the power switch the PSP will boot into its normal screen but after a few seconds it shuts off.

I've already replaced the battery and charged it up to 100%. The PSP will still boot normally about 5% of the times that I hit the power switch. I'm wondering if a power switch replacement will fix the issue or if I should cut my losses and just buy a different model.

:unsure::unsure: interesting. I have a 3001, and haven't had that type of problem. If only my friend @Nikokaro were on, I would have referred you to him, but I haven't seen him in awhile on here. sorry

Hi uncle, how are you? I am always here, even if you don't see me, watching over all of you; mention my name (as indeed you have done) and I will come without delay. 👻

Try playing without the battery inserted, psp plugged into the charger in your home socket. Does it turn on normally? If so, it could be a problem with the battery having inadequate amperage (not voltage), as often happens with cheap chinese batteries.

I tried with the only charger plugged in and get the same issue with it not booting up properly.
Post automatically merged:

Turn the PSP on, then immediately switch it to the "hold" position.

If it stays on, the switch will need to be replaced. If not, your problem is somewhere else.
I also tried this and it stayed on so I think I need to get a replacement power switch. Thanks!
