I posted a fairly robust description of my original problem here.

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=249662&hl=

Since then I have downgraded to 3.2, re-hacked my system, restored a Bootmii Backup tried a new WD drive and so on. I figured all I can do now is do a sysCheck and hopefully you guys will spot something horribly wrong.

Note: I can load game off of DVD and SD.

from what i see DARKCORP has been installed, but that has nothing to do with usb loading.

you've got the cIOS for usb loading, so its either the port itself is bad, or the usb drive is incompatible.

Thank xzxero, I know the drive is compatible its a WD Elements 320gb (I also had it work great before) and I assume the port is fine because the drive works with other apps (wiimc and xplorer). So what I wanted to ask is do you think it seems reasonable that some got really messed up from formatting it to fat32 and back and forth and that the usb loaders are just really sensitive to this?

Thanks again for your help.
