Hacking Trouble with burning

Well the EoC tut worked perfectly. Down to 3.2u now. Gamma loaded. However I'm having massive issues in burning.

NEC DVD +-RW ND-3530A, Nero 8. Verbatim -R DVD. tried 2x and 4x. Tried 3 different ISOs. All leave a black screen and I "think" give a disk read error.

It happens SO FAST its a blink on the screen then back to black. So thats why I "think" it says disc read error.

I've read this burner is fine. I've read the verbatim is good. I've read the speeds should be fine. My ISO file sizes all look correct. (4,699,979,776 bytes)

I tried the Mushroom and the new Raving Rabbits. Both USA versions.

Boot wii -> insert disc -> launch gamma.... black screen, possibly "disc read error" msg, drive makes loud sounds of trying to read the disc. (Originals work fine, no sound from drive.)

Any ideas? Should I just try new media?

Did you install the cIOS?

And you burned as image file and not as data-dvd?

also try booting while pressing 1 or try booting from the homebrew channel and see if that shows the error

What a simple yet powerful question! Before I answered it with the "of course! How else would I have downgraded" I went and dbl checked something....

I followed EoC's tut... EXACTLY... I mean EXACTLY. And guess what? Step 3 says to:

QUOTE[STEP 3] [You should now be on version 3.2 for your region. You're almost done!]

+Load Starfall with Homebrew Channel.
If you read the disclaimer carefully, you will see you are instructed to press B+1 and not B+2. Press B+1 until you get to the next
screen. It is very picky so dont be surprised if you have to keep pressing it a number of times.
At the next screen the most important things to install are the last 3 options. Many people like to just install everything which
is okay too.

+Run cIOS Installer in Homebrew Channel.

Not a single mention of installing the "cIOS for Backups" with gamma 0.3!!!!! Sure enough, I went back into HBC and installed it, my backups came right up!!!!

USE IMGBURN!!! it's free, i used EOC also, burned 10 isos all work perfect.

I understand this completely. I just have had no time to keep up with the wii scene. Too many other scenes. Thanks for the great help!
