Good to know, I was fearing that it needed acess to the actual eShop somehow. Like, it needed to bypass the firmware checking.

It isn't really a kernel exploit, but it leads to a exploitable kernel at the end
And if i'm right, the eshop application nor the exploitable services were not updated in the 10.3.0-28 firmware, so update is maybe possible

Its been implied more than a few times what this could do. You cant blame anyone for hyping it.
