First one does have an answer btw.
It doesn't. By picking at random, there's a 50% chance you'll pick 25%, and a 25% chance you'll pick 50%. So if the correct answer was 50%, you'd have a 25% chance of picking that answer, but then the correct answer would be 25%, and there's a 50% chance of getting that one, but then the correct answer would be 50%... and so on. Recursion.

Of course, that's assuming you're picking an answer from the four given, and not the entire range of possible answers (the question doesn't specify).

For people answering the second question:

Think about it. How many times can you take 5 from 25?

My answers:
1) there are two of the same answer (25%) meaning that there's a possibility of getting 2/4 or 50%.
2) I don't know how this is tricky, but 25/5 = 5 so...
3) I don't get this at all, so I just went with my the logical answer for me (1st choice) :creep:

Well played Veho,
Well played indeed.

Problem 2:

You're thinking about it wrong. Look at it as individual problems.
25 - 5 = 20

Now you have 20. You are no longer taking 5 from 25. With that, the answer would be 1.

Answers:
1) Paradoxical since there is a 50% chance of picking one of the 25%, meaning 50% would be the correct answer, However, you would then switch your answer to 25%, so the answer would be 50% again, and it continues on from there.
2) That doesn't really make sense because you don't say to what end. You could mean until you have less than 25, until you reach 0, etc.
3) I'm not risking my life for money

If you like brain teasers , you should look here http://www.oocities.org/heartland/park/6934/MTQuestions.html , its questions and answers from a game called mind trap , it was really cool when I was in high school

Alright, answer time.

1) 25%, since that is two out of 4 of the possibilities. Then again, maybe... no, no, if I think too much into this it won't end well.
2) 1, since you can only take 5 from 25 once. Next time it will be 5 from 20, then 5 from 15, etc.
3) It seems that you would have a 4/5 chance of winning, so... alright then.

Probabilities (or math in general) have never been my strong suit, so I'm probably way off.

Only tricky one seems to be the first since both 50% and 25% are valid answers...
Anyway, I answered 50%, 1, yes! Give me the money!

Well as already said 1 got no real answer it really depends on your point of view on which is better .
Anyway here is my answers:
1.50
2.1
3.Yes! Give me the money

For 3 nothing specify that you should take 2 random guns or shot blindly without checking if its loaded or no so it would be pretty stupid to waste a million dollar :P

1. 60% (there are 3 different answers, not 4 and not 2. Process of elimination, bro.)
2. 1 (if you subtract 5 from 25, you get 20. If you go farther, you're subtracting from 20, not 25.)
3. Totally worth the risk.
