A translation project is not something that can be started on a whim and after all we don't need translation requests to see which games are worth translating, and If you're fed of me than leave this board.

It's easier to scroll down the page and look at the releases than searching through the rom hacking section, anyway request as much as you want I'm not a moderator.

I promise you that you're not the only one who wants this game translated, but most people (seem to) understand that romhackers who run game translations have lives, and aren't going to be swayed by some random forum member asking for one.

Your translation request is equivalent to me putting up a "Do my programming project request" or a "Write my term paper request". I'm sure you wouldn't respond positively to such requests.

If you want to see a game translated, set up a wiki, extract the game text, and then ask for help from there. It won't guarantee that the game will be fully translated, but it'll show that you're willing to help out in the effort, thus making people much more willing to contribute.

Meh, IMO the current translations being done are just progressing too slow. Chances are if a WD translation project started, it wouldnt be finished for a good long while without a big dedicated team.

personally, i don't think there is much wrong with translation requests, i just think people should just think and actually follow that template stickied up there. anything short of that should be considered spam. there is absolutely no way to get anyone to translate anything if their interest is not piqued. however, requests do sometimes do something productive, if the screenshots and stuff get a hacker/translator interested. That template up there is really good. people just don't read it. in that case, then their nothing more than idiot trolls.

oh yeah, the problem with current translations isn't really dedication. it's just half of us are teenaged newbies with no time and the other half are teenaged pros with no time.

the game is good? bad? it deserve to be translated? IMHO, the game is... (f..ck my english) enough good graphics, but looks like is has random battles, which i HATE, but ready to do some romhacking to see fan-trans of this game

I honestly think theres already too many translation out there to work on as of right now. Theres been alot more requests than translators can even handle. You should postpone requesting for the game for at least another week or two. That way there will be less flame posts. I mean honestly you can wait at least a week to see if theres even a release date or etc for the translated or a ported version of this game?

I took a look though the rom (Note: I would have done this regardless whether this topic was made or not. So don't think that requests like this work.) and it seems like it'd be a bit of a hassle to edit, but still possible. All the files' names are just numbers with no description of what's in them. That makes finding where everything is a pain. Everything also seems to be packed, although I don't think they're compressed.

I'm not gonna working on this. Maybe sometime in the future, but I'm busy with other stuff right now, like a thesis paper due tomorrow that I really should be working on...

Anyway, if anyone's going to start a project on this, what I have found is that all the item and skill names and descriptions as well as profiles are in the 04.iear file. NC_player.str has skill names in it too but it didn't do anything when I changed that (although I only tested for about 2 minutes). There are nftr font files packed in 03.iear that are gonna need to be changed as the game doesn't use 1 byte characters. I also found a bunch of character names in 20.iear, but I haven't tested what they'll effect. No idea where story dialog is yet.

If you're going to request a translation, you should at least learn enough to give more experienced translators a place to start. Translation requests are annoying, but they're especially annoying when they're just "plz translate, kthxbye."
