The setback depends on how much of the tunnel they have to repair, simply because it takes ages to heat/cool parts of the tunnel.

I also wish people who don't have the faintest clue about what will happen would stop sprouting black hole theories.

For precisely this reason, the project is now on hold until the spring. After an electrical connection meltdown on one of the magnets, thawing the tunnel, fixing the issue, and re-cooling the tunnel would put the project into a planned winter hiatus.

So, world no go boom just yet.
