I have a new 3DS the shoulder button broke. I brought it to get repaired and the guy said it's the motherboard when he switched out the shoulder buttons and it still didn't work.

So I went and bought a new 3DS XL and one of the first things it ask is to transfer your system over so I go to do that but it says enter in your network ID password. And it wouldn't take and I hit a forgot password and it says it's going to send a email and it never sends the email.

So I assume the problem is because they shut down their online services for the 3DS. Which means how would I achieve this transferring my system data from one system to the other.

If it breaks, you're just Sol now?

There's no reason that shouldn't be working. Most online services are shut down but people can still log into the eShop with their NNID (as well as Pokemon Bank). Check your spam folder, maybe?

You'll definitely want to keep your NNID since all your eShop purchases are tied to your NNID. You should contact Nintendo Support directly.

System Transfer should work fine. Check your spam folder?
If you can't get System Transfer working, you could try MovableMoveover, though that's usually meant for situations where one console doesn't work.

The email on file for my 3DS was a live account. Live no longer exist. I made an email just for my video game systems so now it's going there.

This is cute. When they transfer files it's the Pikmin. It's really cool that they did that instead of just a bar loading

Hasn't it just changed name to outlook? You should still be able to log in.

So... Does that mean you got it working?

You can look up the transfer animations for the Wii and WiiU on Youtube. They are quite nifty.

I'm pretty sure Nintendo Support can help you with that as well. But I don't think all those live dot com E-mail addresses are completely dead.

Huh, I didn't know there was a page for that.

Doesn't that mess up your Friend code or Friends list?
