Gaming Touhou Problems

Whenever I start the game on my current pc all non in-game graphics are screwed up. For example in the main menu the background is just black but if I run the game on my slower laptop everything's fine. Sometimes when I start the game it exits by itself. Can anyone help me with this?

Right click the .exe, goto properties. Goto Compatibility and check "Disable visual themes"

Apply, then right click, run as administrator.

This often works with many games in my case.
