I put my post in this branch of the DS flashing hardware and software section because I'm not sure it really fits in either of the brand-name adapter sections since it pertains to two of them. Just as a forewarning to the mods =)

So I am trying to decide between a couple of the DS flash adapters here, namely the R4DS and CycloDS. I read the GBAtemp reviews already, but I am still not sure I've got the gist of it. From what it sounds like, CycloDS can run a lot of things that the R4DS can't. Is this true? Furthermore, does it work for the vice-versa?

Another factor in my decision(albeit a smaller one) is that, at www.NDSthemes.com, they have sectioned their themes, and R4DS seems to have the most variety there, by an enormous margin. Can I in any way convert these themes for use on a different adapter, or can they simply be used by it anyway?

I was leaning toward the R4 at first, but I noticed it has less, well... less. The CycloDS seems to offer more, but at a higher price(though not too awful much more).

So... can I get any recommendations? Thank you for your help.

Lastly, do any of you know of any reliable sites that won't end up as a scam or virus?

Again, thanks for any help.

As an R4 owner, I'd say get a CycloDS to be honest, the extra features and the SDHC support are handy, plus is has 2MB of onboard flash which could be used later on to do some pretty neat stuff.

You should have put it out in the main forum("above" this one), but considering how much an R4 costs at all the places that I've seen them, I'd just pay a little more abd go with the Evolution. Especially since the Evo has alot of featurtes that the R4 doesn't/can't, e.g. SDHC

an r4 is a joke compared to cyclo, r4's are for people that want to buy their little 5 year old sister a ds and mod it, but if you dont have a problem with the cyclos price range, i recommend that you also look into the acekard rpg which is a good comparisant to the cyclo
