Hardware Top screen flickers while charging

Hey guys,

I have a problem, my 3DS top screen flickers (often barely noticeable) about every minute or so, but only while charging (using 3rd party (non-OEM) DSi adapter by the way).
Although I've been using the same adapter for a while, I only noticed this recently. But I often charge while I'm not playing, so maybe the problem isn't new.
Do you think there's a problem with my adapter? Please advise.
