Hey guys, I usually just lurk around and read things on GBATemp but I have something that may be an issue I would like to get advice on.

I got my 3DS yesterday, like most of us, and I noticed that when you open it up so that the top half snaps (Signaling that it is clicked in place), it is a tiny bit wobbly. Is the top half supposed to wobble a little bit or is it supposed to be 100% firm in place?

Any insight is helpful, thanks.

same for me
my dsi was "wobbly"[just guessing what it means] a bit, but the 3ds does that much more
can be a bit problem if a game requires you to shake it, to activate the motion sensors....

I had this same issue with my DSL and now my 3DS, BUT so does my friend and all the people who bought one as well as us on launch night, i believe its just how the hinge is.

really even the eu 3ds's hmmm, I did a google search and it seems that some people have completely sturdy hinges. Mind you this is not confirmed, I was just wondering if any one has a completely sturdy screen and if not then is this "normal".

regardless it's kind of annoying, please respond those who have a 3DS.

The wobble isn't "serious" but it is annoying, any one else care to share their experience?

I would like to make a poll, but that may not be very accurate.

Nintendo had how long to develop this?
One would assume they'd have enough time to work out these kinks.

Oh well, 3DS lite anyone?

Its not the first time a manufacturing problem has occur with Nintendo

I remember hearing about how in some batches of ds lites the screws
near the hinge were overtightened leaving to eventual cracking of
the area.

^^this is the EXACT reason i bought an extended warranty that covers accidental damage for £23 for 2 years, if nintendo release the next Iteration of the 3DS within 2 years (as they have in the past!) then i will throw this down the stairs, get the money i paid and put it to the new one, quids in!

It IS normal. A more precise design could lead to broken hinged even after a short usage. A lot of kids will have 3DS's, so more subject to multiple open-close lid per day.

The DSL had a more precise design, and led to broken hinged.

It seem that a lot of ppl are paranoying lol.
