lol, when I first it, I was like:"wtf, they ported metal slug2 to the gba? WOOOHOOO", and when I read what was really on it:"shit."

Same with me, I blindly didn't notice Max. The screenshot looked odd so I read the tittle properly

Supposedly, it's one of the classic "RPGs we never got to play". It's kind of a mix between Final Fantasy and Fallout - semi-post-apocalyptic world, battles on foot or in car/tank things, etc.....

It's a shame that they closed down before they ported the SNES remake (Metal Max Returns) of the original NES game.

At least the series is going to live on.......it's coming to PS2 with a brand new game!

Hmm.....and you know, considering that the people who made this port shut down a good eon or so ago, I wonder how long this 1.1 version has been floating around....

I think Metal Slug 1 will be released by the end of the year

I just hope that it will be a 1:1 conversion or the original, with some extras added...Metal Slug Advance sucked compared to any NeoGeo Metal Slug

tellingly, they removed all reference to metal max from their site though (there was a legal wrangle over it resulting in the 2nd port being cancelled, despite in beta form).
the original license belonged to data east (now bankrupt) and changed hands to the boss of crea-tech i think. that's where the problems arose.

the new title is being developed by success and crea-tech and many of the original staff are working on it apparently.

very sad that mother 1/2 and this wont be translated, i remember drooling over screens for this in famicom tsushin [spelling? the mag who always had a famicom disk system chara on the cover] years ago and hoping for a trans. seeing screens brings me back to coming home to my desk with a pc engine, modded superfami and md and wondering which to boot up first ^^ its great that someone found and dumped this version, very nice of them!
