It doesn't work. I've put a new Tiramisu on the SD card, and I get this red screen. I tried following the instruction on the link (deleting update folder), but I can't get into Homebrew because if I try to continue from that red screen, my Wii U just goes black.
The red screen is a warning regarding blocking updates from Nintendo by deleting the update folder. I currently need to do this myself. You need to follow this guide https://wiiu.hacks.guide/#/block-updatesto block updates. You should be able to continue into WiiU menu by pressing A. If you are unable to get past the warning by pressing A, you can try holding X while booting WiiU. Environment loader should appear. Highlight Tiramisu by pressing Y and then press A. Tiramisu boot selector will load. Press Y to highlight WiiU Menu then press A. You should now boot into WiiU menu. If that doesn’t work, repeat the steps but this time in Tiramisu boot selector highlight Home Brew Launcher by pressing Y and then press A. You’ll boot directly into Home Brew. Good luck!
Edit: to update Tiramisu/Aroma, unzip and extract the contents of the zip file to the root of the SD card.
I think that message is normal. I went ahead and deleted my update folder, which was deleted before, so I had to recreate it to update to 5.5.6. deleting it is just a precaution. the message no longer appears for me. I think tiramisu and aroma spoof the firmware to 255.255.255, because I think that's what it says in nintendont for your firmware. I think that's FF for 255, which is as high as it goes.

I'm very interested by this, because I had the same issue than you at a point, and manage to solve the problem, thing is, the solution WASN'T JUST donwloading Tiramisu files and putting them other the ones on my sd (because I thought there might be a corrupted file). The red screen wan't the only pb of course, in you subject, you were like me saying "my Wii U just goes black"
So, I went restarting from the start a creation of a new sd card with all files was still not working, but should have been. At that point, I did something that I can't really remember (it might come back to me). Also, what is sure, recently Maschell confirmed that tiramisu files haven't been updated since it's public release, so except if there is a corruption of file on your sd, or a file has magically changed directory or been renamed, there is no point doing that.
My deduction is something "else" changed that affects tiramisu. At that point, I didn't have Qeality's advices, they might help you solve, i'm interest in knowing if it helped you, else, I will give you another info, but first try Qeality's (did you ever needed to update your tiramisu? because in reality, the statement seems wrong as it has never been updated)
