Gaming Tingle - where is the 'special key'?

I have managed to get to the very last level, beaten the Oinker Queen thingy, and there is a door that requires a "special key" according to Pinkle. So where is the key? Is it an object that can be found or bought? I have not yet got all the local specialities and it did occur to me that it might be the 'something good' that the merchant has promised. I'd just like to know.

The special key is given to you by the fairy princess when you finish the desert level. That mean you have to find all fifteen of the orbs to unlock the five coloured fountains and release the fairies. Then you talk to the queen fairy two or three times. The first time you talk to her she gives you thanks and money. Then she gives you a reward for finding her hair clip (found on the oinker level). The last time you talk to her she gives you the key to unlock the door.
