Just wanted some opinions here. I have been installing NSP games utilizing Tinfoil and remaining completely offline since i first even tinkered with RCM/CFW. I was hesitant to use Dev menu since I was trying to minimize my risk of getting banned if and when I do decide to roll the dice and go online ( With legit games). I would like to install DLC and updates with Dev menu. My question is does it really matter which I use to install NSPs or is my risk likely the same just having them on my system when booting into OFW and eventually trying to take a legit game online (Fortnite)

If you're planing to go online your risk is more or less the same, devmenu might have a higher risk since it's a Nintendo tool made for devs only

If you install any NPS files, you're at a higher risk of getting banned. You can be playing offline all you want but the moment you connect to the internet in OFW, you might get banned in the next upcoming ban wave. DLC is something I'm experimenting with BOTW. I really dont mind getting banned

can't the mods just create a sticky that makes it a bit more obvious for the special needs kids who post the same questions day in day out?

Where are you putting your nsp files on your sd for tinfoil? Whenever i use tinfoil they don't show up at all

Tinfoil is far better than Devmenu mainly because it doesn't matter who's NSP it is. Devmenu is probably going to die out soon my only use for it so far was managing to reset the update version on a game I reinstalled as a NSP instead of a cartridge but was missing the updates/DLC for. It was preventing me from playing the game, I managed to combat it.

If Tinfoil gets DLC/Update support then devmenu is dead at least in my eyes. There is some others things you can do in Devmenu but honestly, it's not what the majority of us want and it would be great if someone patched it to install any NSP but people on the Hekate side are so anal about piracy I don't think it'll ever happen. Stick with Tinfoil, unless you have the same problem with me with a game preventing you playing it then look for the NSP version of devmenu. That's just my opinion.
