So, this is not for everyone. This targets Linux users that have a freedesktop spec compliant file manager… (so not KDE
)
I have made a little tool that helps identify homebrew in the file manager.
Maybe this will be useful for someone (or be included in some Switch Linux distribution).

It depends on 'freeimage' library and `shared-mime-info' system.
In the future I plan to overlay the embedded version info in the generated thumbnail, so it will be even easier to distinguish different releases.
Bonus feature is that you can use a special border:
