Gaming thirsty guy near canalave

in pokemon diamond, how do i make him not thirsty? is there an item like in blue and red?

i bought all 3 kind of drinks from the dept store at veilstone but he just kept saying that he's thirsty.

I think he will be always thirsty, you just can to go to canalve without having worries of a 'unobtained thing'

Don't you get it?

It's just a throwback to the Red/Blue games: there was a guy that was thirsty and wouldn't let you pass, so you had to give him a lemonade/water/soda/whatever to pass!
