I have a question about the third party dock which result in brick of the switch.
I read it's related to a wrong charging protocol or something like that.

But is the charger or the whole dock which is the cause ?
Because i wonder if i use a third party dock with an official charging cable. It may work without any brick risk ? or it's the same ?

its not so much teh cable as these docks i think after looking up real quick its about power delivery, some reports pin the blame on the A/V Hand-off. if your paranoid of bricking yours, just use the offical dock and a small HDMI Display if your looking to something Semi-portable.

The Switch revision will have a sleek small dock for your bedside table. While you wait for that I suggest you get a new tiny 3rd party dock housing/shell and use that.

To summarize the problem: nintendo didnt follow the usbc specifications for the switch but the 3rd party dock manufacturer did thus they fry the chip inside the switch providing wrong voltage. Thats the reason why the docks causing bricks.
