So I was going through all the steps following Plailect's guide to arming A9LH. Finally made it to that step, used the safea9lhinstaller and it was successful. Went the restart to now boot into luma3ds and to my demise, I've gotten a black screen.

So far I've tried removing the home menu from the extdata folder. Tried booting into Decrypt9wip and hourglass. I'm open to any ideas, else I'm gonna have to give hardmodding a go and I'm fairly new to this all. Got the original otp.bin file and back up NAND.

Cheers in advance for the help,

    Dan

but if it is bricked, the blue light should stay on. if the install was successful, it will power off

Nah neither holding select, then hitting power boots into the luma config. nor does booting with no SD card

The dream. Anyone know of a good hardmod guide to follow? Will give it a crack in the next few days, about time I scrubbed up on my soldering skills.

Do you have arm9loaderhax.bin in the root of your SD card?

I do indeed my man, even tried renaming start_hourglass9 to arm9loaderhax.bin. I think she's well and truly cooked :(

It's a pretty weird brick. Try to use another SD card with arm9loaderhax.bin to see if it boots.

yeah I've given a different SD card a go as well, no luck. And as far as I know theres a version for both o3ds and n3ds. Cheers for the replies though, I gotta hit the hay, getting damn late

Did u tried Plailects Solution ?:
    1. Black screen on SysNAND boot
    1. Try booting with your SD card out, and then reinserting it after booting.
      1. Power off your 3DS by holding down the power button.
      2. Take out the SD card.
      3. Power on the 3DS.
      4. When the home menu appears, reinsert your SD card.
      5. If this worked, you should Clear Home Menu’s extdata by navigating to the following folder on your SD card: /Nintendo 3DS/(32 Character ID)/(32 Character ID)/extdata/00000000/
        • EUR Region: Delete 00000098
        • JPN Region: Delete 00000082
        • USA Region: Delete 0000008f
        • CHN Region: Delete 000000A1
        • KOR Region: Delete 000000A9
        • TWN Region: Delete 000000B1
    2. Try booting without any cartridges inserted (including flashcarts)
    3. If you have a hardmod and a NAND backup, flash the backup back to SysNAND.
    4. Try booting into recovery mode and updating your system.
This probably will not work for an Old 3DS downgraded to 2.1.0
This will BRICK a New 3DS downgraded to 2.1.0
      1. Power off your 3DS by holding down the power button.
      2. Hold L+R+A+Up.
      3. Power on the 3DS.
      4. If you enter safe mode, update your 3DS only if you have an entrypoint for the latest FW version and it is possible to downgrade from it and attempt the downgrade again.
