The grass is a bit on the brown side but it should perk up.

The horny bastards are gonna be swimming in luxury.

That looks really nice. My tank is just random plants placed around till I get around to setting up my 10 gallon they way I want. On a side note my low quality cherry shrimp i put in are starting to have babies.

Got a new pair of headphones. FiiO JT1. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say they'll get a review on the front page sooner than later, but they're pretty decent. Over-ears, $69 USD, in-line mic, 32 ohm (means they can run on any potato device), sound decent and are quite comfortable. Very easy recommendation for anyone that wants good headphones for under 100

Then I also got Kid Icarus Uprising, specifically for the little stand so I can finally go and play Metroid: Hunters without my wrist starting to kill me.

And last but not least, I finally got the last missing parts for my GBA build.

Unlike the previous, older mod this one actually works properly. The shell was a bit of a tight fit but otherwise everything worked just fine.

Thank you :)
My wife is in charge of the plants and 'scaping, but I provided the wood (hurr hurr :tpi: ) so I take part of the credit :ha:
The first tank was supposed to be designed and aquascaped and stuff, but since we couldn't find some of the plants we wanted, and couldn't get some of them to grow well (turns out tiny shallow-rooted carpeting plants don't take "being uprooted by snuffling catfish twice a day" all that well, who knew), and some of them grew too much and overcrowded the tank and so on... So the first one is now a "natural" tank :P
The second one should be better, we have more experience and fewer catfish :ha:

Low quality cherry shrimp are resilient little critters. They've been breeding like crazy, there's at least four berried females swimming around my main tank. I've been moving them to other tanks and they seem to be doing fine.
I'm preparing a jar to see how one or two of them fares in there so I can have a shrimp vase ^_^

Oooh those headphones do look funky. I'm always interested in trying more but I just can't justify buying them lol. I have a pair of Hifiman Deva Pro as daily drivers (open back Bluetooth planar magnetic headphones!) and a VERY chonky pair of Audeze LCD GX when I want to explode my ears.

Yeah I have too many headphones already but I wanted something cheap but decent for my handhelds that I can feasibly take with me and not get overly sad if I break or lose them. Plus these are tuned for fun so good for games and content on less optimal dac & amp combos, like my phone. They're mainly to replace my Grado sr80x because while I love those I don't like the foam touching my ears all that much. Plus the FiiO being less open means I get less noise from my neighbors when their kids are over again.

Most of my other headphones are also a lot harder to drive (250 ohm or more) and the exceptions are my Audeze LCD-XC which are uncomfortable while draped over the couch like a wet rag, or my KZ x HBB PR2 which are in-ears and also not what I would call comfort for at home. So these are a happy compromise for me that I can just plug in and play comfortably on the couch or in bed without getting distracted by my neighbors.

Paydaaaaaaaay! Picked up a 2TB SSD to throw into an external closure and store some roaming Steam games. Also got an L shaped HDMI adapter to make it easier to move between Mini PCs for various testing things without having a cable sticking out horizontally!

Bought the Spring Screams Humble bundle. Got all 8 games.

When ever i get a Bundle, I always adjust the donation to give max to the charity's cause that's what it's for and I find it kind of shitty of Humble to have the charity's get , essentially, minimum as the default.

I wanted to try Krispy Kreme's Easter doughnuts, so I'm quite excited to start on these... I also got a fancy camera, so maybe my hardware reviews will have slightly less trashy pictures once I figure out how to use it lol

i finally got myself Deus Ex; i've played before in *ahem* other ways, but i've been playing the Deus Ex: Revision mod (with BioMod and Lay D Denton) and it slaps

if you have a new 3ds you can control it with the circle pad, c stick and gyro-aim; check out the patches here!

PSA for anyone else like me that (for GBA) prefers laminated ITA screen over IPS. I went to funnyplaying's site last night to browse around, and black border and white border laminated ITA kits were sold out, and "FC" border running low. I wanted a white for a pink/white build for my daughter, so I went to handheldlegend and bought the last white border kit they had in stock, plus a FC border kit for another project, and shells and buttons for both. The SNES/SFC and DMG OG Gameboy border ITA kits are still plentifully available from what I saw, but that's cuz they aren't popular and don't really look right for a GBA (IMHO).

Anyway, if modding a GBA with a funnyplaying laminated ITA was on your list but you've been putting it off, better get on it. It's possible they'll be restocked, but "sold out" in this hobby usually means sold out.

What's the difference, pros and cons for you?

ITA screen spec matches the lower screen from a DSi (256x192 resolution). Installed in a GBA, the center 240x160 pixels are used for a proper GBA display. IPS screens have a higher resolution and while they look great, you lose the authentic "pixel grid" look. IPS looks more like playing GBA on an emulator on a PC, and if I wanted that Id just do that.

One caveat though: out of the box the ITA will likely have some flicker, but there is a pot on the GBA mobo intended for fine-tuning voltage to the display. There's a display test rom (the "Aging" rom) that has a routine specifically for this adjustment. 5 seconds with a tiny screwdriver and no more flicker.

Either way laminated is the way to go. Screen is sealed to the glass so no lint specs, hair, etc under the glass and I wouldn't say they're "scratch proof" but almost scratch proof yeah. One more FYI: when using a Funnyplaying laminated screen, IPS or ITA, you also need to use a specific shell type that has a display cutout area that matches precisely to the bevel on the screen glass. Limits the wildass customizations you can do, but for that screen it's a no-brainer tradeoff IMHO.

GBA w/ laminated ITA I built for Christmas.

Absolutely love the tower of mini PCs there.

recently found a good deal on a OnePlus 6T myself. Going to play around with PostmarketOS :3
