I don't know if it will result in anything good (like they said, they didn't want multiple different entry points or version/mods of the channels).
But there were still some reported bugs unfixed, maybe someone could look at these. (sorry, I don't remember all these bugs, but someone reported an issue few weeks ago, but the official issue tracker was deleted. I don't know if the team kept them)
