For Mig Flash, the SD Card MUST be ExFAT. Each game MUST be in its own folder. The folder can be any name you want except special characters and have the .xci extension, The folder MUST contain the following files FROM your personally dumped games:

ROM.XCI
ROM (Initial Data).bin
ROM (Certificate).bin
ROM (Card ID Set).bin
ROM (Card UID).bin

Basically:

SDCard:/personallydumpedgame.xci/personallydumpedgame.xci
SDCard:/personallydumpedgame.xci/personallydumpedgame (Initial Data).bin
SDCard:/personallydumpedgame.xci/personallydumpedgame (Certificate).bin
SDCard:/personallydumpedgame.xci/personallydumpedgame (Card ID Set).bin
SDCard:/personallydumpedgame.xci/personallydumpedgame (Card UID).bin

Replace "personallydumpedgame" with something else.

Any tips on how to set up the cartridge? Keep just getting "the game card could not be read" error.
Read the instructions on the page, use a exFAT format sd card ON THE CARTDRIGE and DUMP ONLY YOUR OWN GAMES using the dumper or a modded console. copy each set of files on a folder on the root of the sd card.

hi! Can someone explain to me or give suggestion for my case?
bought Legends ZA for switch 2 version, but only have an OLED model, MIG dumper cannot read the card, but on my switch (modded) i can read xci file, but i have 3 questions:
xci with 29.7gb is gigantic, trimmed is 4.4gb which to use?
the dump only gave me xci file, no other bin, but with other older version of nxdump i have extracted only the certificate.bin file.
how can i dump initial data? card uid and id set is needed (for online play)?

Switch 2 games can’t be dumped at all with public tools afaik

The MiG dumper 100% can’t read and dump Switch 2 carts. I know that for sure

Why didn't you just buy the Switch 1 version?

Buying a Switch 2 game for your Switch 1 is like buying a PS5 game for a PS4.
It won't work

Some of them do tho… Pokemon legends za is one of them

It works functionally wise and when you get a switch 2 you can just start enjoying the switch 2 enhancements for said game without buying it again.

I know on the PS5, many PS4 games got FREE PS5 cross-grades but I don'y know if Nintendo charges for them or if it's up to the publisher.

if its a switch 2 cart with both versions of the game. There is no upcharge. You can play the proper version on the respective console without needing anything else.

You only need to pay for the up charge if you're trying to use a switch 1 verson on a switch 2 console. Unless of course publisher decides other wise. Like Captain Toad Treasure Tracker.

I was strictly talking about Switch 1 only as it pertained to why the person above bought the Switch 2 version when they only had an original Switch and wanted to dump Pokémon Legends Z-A. Like I said I didn't know if Nintendo required an upcharge or if it was up to the publisher,

none of them work

There are games released for the Swtich 2 but they are games for switch 1 also there is games which have version for switch 1 and switch 2 and you can buy the «bundle» but the games version switch 2 WILL not work on switch 1. if you like to play the game on a sw1 you need to buy the sw1 version or a bundle with both versions.

If your oled can dump the xci then you have it modded... so you could simply install the game in your emunand in the S1 and use the original cartridge in the S2 (if you have one).
About why buying the S2 version? because you can use it in both and includes the S2 upgrade for when you use it in your S2.
(The S2 version cartridges contain the S1 game, readable by the S1 and the S2 upgrade pack that will only be used in the s2 ... and unfortunately can't be installed in the S2 from the cartridge :D ).
The dumps you can get with nxdumptool (older version) won't be able to get the initial data because the S2 mixed cartridges are different from the S1 and can't (at least yet) extract it from them.
The 32GB untrimmed is normal, you can keep the 4.4gb perfectly fine... still won't be able to use it with mig due the lack of the .bin initial data. and yes, the 4 certificates are needed for your online playing with mig switch

UnlockSwitch just send this «spam» (I think) to the Telegram group.

The original file was 20 MB!!!! this is recoded on MP3 128Kb I do not know if this people used some type of stenography on the file.

At best, it's a way to carry around your physical games in one cartridge and an inconvenient way to select them. It can also be a piracy device that guarantees a ban. CFW can give you ban free piracy if you're smart and homebrew
If you only dump your personally owned games and the companion files match the dump, it is very unlikely to get banned on the original Switch.

Not a Switch user, but have flashcarts become a good alternative to modding the console itself or not?
No as you can only use properly dumped games. You cannot run homebrew.

That's why I said piracy guarantees the ban.
