Due to the other smash bros thread being bombarded by idiots and being split into an actual 'dump' and the single layer one thats knocking around., I thought I'd make this thread.

Please post ONLY if you have tried the single layer version.
(Don't go asking questions, they will be answered by people who have tried the game posting.)

works (don't try to make the image autoboot, it gave me some weird error message in japanese and it didnt stop the update either so now I have eu, us and jpn news/forecast channels

)

Problems: the game stalls sometimes with a weird beep and makes me turn off and on the console.

I already have the image of the game, can i use the Metroid Prime 3 Trick for the Update so i dont get the Dual Channels ?

After I updated the game ran fine except for freezing up after beating classic mode(single player).

But now...
-can't access settings
-the date on the wii menu is weird
-internet channel doesn't work

Hmm sounds interesting! Has anyone else had this problem of everything appearing fine untill the game crashes?

It was a ntsc-u console. I'm not sure what fw it had, but i havent updated since SMG. Wiikey was 1.9g.

There's your problem. The SMG update isn't the latest update. It's 3.0, I think.

I didn't know i had to have the latest update. So is there anyway to fix it? Maybe the next USA update perhaps?

The next disc update should fix it, I think from this we know that the latest update is required if your console is from another region.

An upcoming US update should fix the semi bricking (can't access settings) but won't get rid of the duplicate channels.

ALWAYS get up to date with the latest firmware for your region before attempting an update from a foreign game.
