wow, i'm honestly surprised that a pc who can run windows 10 can't run ubuntu properly .

I ran Ubuntu (16.04) for several months, but despite all of its pros, there were major cons I couldn't look past. Such as it crashing frequently. That was a deal breaker.

I have a shitty old Gateway laptop and it runs just fine for me lol

This is a bit weird... Ubuntu is a very solid OS and shouldn't give you these problems... I am so sorry that you're having these problems!

Once I can play all my games on Linux ill finally ditch windows. They're getting more games on Linux all the time so hopefully a Linux release becomes standard one day. I do miss using Linux, I used Ubuntu for a while before I got into pc gaming.

Re-download the ISO file from the site (Preferably another mirror if available) and get a new CD or whatever you are burning the ISO to and then try again.

I downloaded the ISOs and flashed them to different pen drives and DVDs. Installed it successully using a different device each time. And wheneber I boot it, that happens. I still haven't yet tried to do boot it without the nomodeset flag tho
